Space Cadet by Robert Heinlein and Maske: Thaery by Jack Vance

I've been thinking about these two science fiction classics, individually and in relation to each other, just because they're the two books I read most recently. While they're not really that similar, I just keep thinking of them as a pair. Both are science fiction classics by well-known authors. Both involve space travel. Both are emblematic of certain styles I was already familiar with (Heinlein's "juvenile" works and Vance's whatever you call it). They're paragons of the style they represent, although I'd say that Between Planets is better than Space Cadet and Alastor is better than Maske: Thaery.

Yeah, I have prior examples of the styles employed in these novels (prior in the sense that I'd read them alreadySpace Cadet is from 1948 and is the oldest of the "Heinlein juveniles" I've read). And I even think my prior examples surpass these two. But they're still great books. A little short though. Speaking of which, I'm cutting this post short too. Bye.
